This is what you really want because that's what I want also

It is quiet, but it's not cheap

I looked at that and while I'm considering it I'd rather not pay more for my vga cooler than I paid for my entire case.

The best Radeon Cooler, bar none, is the Arctic Cooling VGA Silencer.
Its cheap.
It looks good.
Its very easy to install.
It performs very very well.
Its quiet, even in "loud" mode.

The TT Giant thing is crap. The Zalmans alright, but isn`t as good as the VGA Silencer by a long shot, both for temperatures and for OCing. But it can be run passivly if you dont want to OC.

There aren't many options, buta NB cooler is certainly not an option. It won't come close to cooling the GPU well enough and will be as noisy as the stock cooler. The only options that I can recommend is the Zalman Heatpipe or the Arctic Cooling VGA Silencer (and I wouldn't go with anything else if I were you). The Heatpipe will cool your 9700 well enough without the add-on fan and the VGA silencer is better than the stock cooler at low (5V) settings. If you're on a tight budget and don't want an uber-silent PC, go with the VGA silencer.

EDIT: There will be a new revision of the VGA silencer in the next couple of weeks, which may result in a price drop of Rev. 1 (at least it did over here in Germany).

The new VGA Silencer revision is a different version. To allow application to FX cards.
For £15 you getting a Cooler thats far better than the Stock, better than the Zalman, and is amazing for OCs.

You just jumped the shark dude. How can it be "amazing" for OCing when it does NOTHING for the RAM?

Compared to which heatsink that DOES cool the ram, smartass?

I've had both the Zalman ZM80C-HP AND the VGA Silencer. I'm using the VGA silencer now. Really, to get overclocks, I had to use the fan on the Zalman, and that 92mm fan was LOUD when I turned up the fan controller hooked up to it. The VGA Silencer is VERY quiet, even at the loudest setting. I run 5 Panaflo L1A's and a Zalman 7000cu, along with a Zalman 400w PS. A VERY quiet system. But the difference between the regular mode and the silent mode on the VGA silencer is BARELY audible.

BTW, I installed seperate ramsinks that I bought @ Compusa, but they didn't help my overclock whatsoever.

Learn to read with comprehesion before you start flapping your pie-hole, "smartass." I didn't say ANY 3rd party heatsink did cool RAM chips. To get THAT it seems you have to add your own as a separate project. Regardless, AMAZING seemed like a bit of snake-oil to me, and that's what I was responding too.

So then you're saying there are no "amazing" heatsinks for video cards? Ok...

And as I pointed out in my post, my ramsinks had ZERO effect on my ability to overclock my ram.

Products either do the job or they don't. Fanboy words like "Amazing!" simply don't fit and smack of people who either don't understand the there's always something better or of company plants trying to move product. Did you even bother to read a review on this product? The best I read said that it worked well except for it's lack of RAM cooling.

Yeah, I saw that and dismissed it. I don't recall voting for you as the final word on anything. Now here's a question for you. Why don't you find someone else to pick on before this degenerates further? I'm sure you can scare up a better target for your sissy-boy name calling and arrogant BS.

Does the Zalman cool the ram? Nope.
Does the stock cooler cool the ram? Nope.
Does the TT giant cool the ram? Nope.

Its amazing for OCing the core. I can name alot of people whove gotten 50-70mhz better OCs using the VGA Silencer over any other air solution.
If you want to get technical, the VGA Silencer expels hot air rarther than letting it getting recirculated, which asuming that heat was the limiting factor in OCing memory, would help remove that factor, which in a way, does cool the ram and help OCs. Under certain conditions.

More specifically, HardWarrior, calm down, dont get all uptight and take critisisim/accept being wrong gracefully, and dont blow up.

I NEVER said it did, did I?
Did I say it did?
Did I say it did?

Do you guys acutally READ posts before you respond to them or is it "cool" around here to make sh1t up?

Don't tell ME to calm down son, I'm not the one skeeting words like "Amazing!" around in order to superheat what should have been a simple recommendation based on YOUR experience. Now, take your lame, juvenile debate tactics (You just calm down! Don't blow up! Accept being wrong!) down the road. You might even be able to find someone your crap might work on.

You seem to have some sort of comprehension problem, you're too caught in trying to fight. I'm not trying to fight with you. I'm TELLING you, I have the Zalman ZM80C-HP, AND the Arctic Cooling VGA Silencer. The VGA silencer is AMAZING. Ramsinks do NOTHING. My ram overclocked to 360mhz before ramsinks, and 360mhz after ramsinks. There's no reason to include RAM cooling with these products. They are AMAZING as it is. And I dont' need to "read a review of this product" because I can make my own review. I have it.

Alright, maybe I was fighting a little there at the end... but your attitude is combative and not very friendly.

I agree with Nebor here.
I own both. So i can comment.
And you are being very arguementative, and are obviously getting worked up over nothing. So you tell me who is acting the maturer? You, being irratic and confrontational, or Nebor/Me who are trying to calm you down?

Until you can calm down and not be as confrontational as you are, i suggest that you take a break from AT for a while to reconsider you "forum manner".
Im sure both Nebor & Me can name alot of other members who would more likely blow up at you and show your arrogance, so think yourself lucky that you found two less argumentative members in this thread.

No fool, you seem to have the comprehesion problem. I asked you nice to get off my case AFTER you had the balls to call me a smartass. Exactly what planet do you come from where it's cool to call perfect strangers silly arse names and expect them to just kiss the ring? I'm not your b1tch, don't care what you think or what your experiences have been. The truth is that I'd be knocking your teeth out right now if you were standing in front of me. A half decent moderator would have told you to move on the SECOND you started with the ad hominem. Combative and not friendly? I'm supposed to be anything else after you going out of your way to patronize me? You don't know me or anything about me.

You could have said anything you wanted and I would have been glad to enjoy a friendly chat if you wouldn't have just ASSUMED that you could talk to me like your retarded little brother.

Now, if you want some more, bring it on.

Like I'm supposed to be chastened by your slack-jawed agreement with a person who resorts to name-calling FIRST? I wonder how giggly YOU'D be if he talked down to you the way he did me? Do you even KNOW what the word "erratic" means? Look it up and come back before you try to use it again. The problem SEEMS to be that both of you think it's okay to crack-wise and expect others to just roll over for it. Why else would you both spend so much time trying to meatball psychoanalyze me intead of just shutting up and leaving me alone? Yes, I'll argue BOTH of you lamers to a stand-still, without breaking a sweat. That's my nature and nurture. But I won't continue this if both of you "rocket scientists" would just leave me alone and stop assuming that you're more witty and intelligent than I am. Stop trying to tell me how I "feel", you have no idea who or what I am. That's the first thing people like you try in forums when they figure out that they've grabbed a tiger by the tail.

Again, just leave me alone and we can perhaps learn to be civil with each other one day.

You obviously have some kind of anger problem. We're not trying to fight with you. Both of us, who own both solutions, were merely commenting on it's performance, when you started off by calling us fanboys. Note how we NEVER called you a name, and yet you respond with at least 2 posts that are full of personal insults. Get a grip man.

You obviously have a stupidity problem. You're also a lying coward. I never called you a fanboy. Read my post 10x and maybe you'll figure it out. I never even had a chance to address either of you on the performance you were getting. Each and every post from you two punks was laced with the sort ass-for-head BS that detracted from what you were saying. Never called me a name? "Compared to which heatsink that DOES cool the ram, smartass?" Is how you talk to people on the short-bus? The only person who needs to get a grip here, stupid, is your dad on a baseball bat. Someone needs to beat some manners into you.

Come on, twit. Let's keep it going.

So you`ve come here to start an arguement and keep it going?
