Has anyone experienced problems with recognition of USB scanners or other devices with the Via KT133 Chipset? If so is there a way to resolve this. I have tried WinME and Win2k, I have also installed several diff USB drivers to workaround this, but nothing works.

I have an Asus A7Pro and have had the same problem. It only happens in WinME and not in Win 98SE.
Make sure you have the correct drivers.I have a Epson Expression 1200U and sometimes have to install 2 or 3 times before Windows will find it.

Yes - but it only started about a week ago on my system. At first, the USB ports were dead. A few days later, they suddenly started "sorta" working [can't keep my usb camera plugged in duringt bootup else it crashes the santa cruz turtle beach control panel]. Most people I've discussed this with have disabled the USB ports and installed a USB card as the VIA USB chipset is crap.

I have a rather annoying USB problem with my Palm Vx cradle. Every time I reboot my machine (W2k) and it gets back into the OS, it says my communication port is unavailable. If I unplug the cradle (I paid extra for the USB adapter, although I am thinking about just going back to straight serial now), and plug it back into another port, it works just fine. What a pain in the a$$! :|

I seemed to work fine at first, but now it is flaky like this again. Was always flaky in WinME...........

Yeah I have tried installing the filter drivers... at this point I am ready to switch back to an Intel CPU as there doenst seem to be much else out there for the Athlon other than Via.

I just bought an Epox with an AMD chipset because I was tired of fighting the VIA/USB problems on my Abit mobo. It does have an VIA southbridge but they supposedly play well together.
