I use three monitors so am planning to get two NVidia PCIe boards and span my desktop across all three. I have not been playing any games and do not expect to do much in the future (and in any case I would not be looking to have a game's display span monitors). I don't even run my monitors at high res (I mostly have the extra screen space so that I can run at lower res and see the text better). That said, if I decide to get a game I don't want it to fail to run. Ok, so here's the question:
If I get a moderately respectable card such as a 7600gs and pair it with a complete piece of crap like a 6200 TC, will the crap card hold back the other one? In games, I have noticed that the primary display takes over and the secondary displays are frozen so I would guess that whatever is driving the primary will be the sole arbiter of performance in that mode. In windows, however, I doubt it is that way.
Anyone have any experience or advice?
