Video Flashes when scrolling

I am building a new system for a friend. I bought an MSI K7N2 and a MSI TI-42008X model vtd8x. When I use the scroll on the USB mouse the video goes in and out. It mainly happens if I do it quickly. It only happens when I am in a program that can scroll. It won't happen if there is no option to scroll. I have the newest video drivers from MSI, and the newest NF2 drivers also. I have found that if I disable the AGP 8x in the bios the problem goes away. Any ideas on how to fix this? Or should I return the MB or Video and buy another one.

If it helps any I think this system error in XP's event viewer is related to it.

Are you by chance using it a USB mouse & Keyboard?

Then check in device manager to see if there
are conflicts shown.

If so, update the BIOS.

No, I'm only using the USB mouse. The keyboard is PS/2. I'll try updating the bios. I am only one version behind and it didn't really say anything in the update that sounded like it would fix the problem. There are no conflicts in the device manager. Thanks.

I have also tried different versions of the video drivers (30, 31, and 40.72). All of which have the same problem. I also took the video acceleration down to none and still have the problem.

I've tried the bios, it didn't work. I have also tried Directx9, newest video drivers from MSI (4172), newest NF2 drivers from MSI, there is no video bios. I'm running out of ideas. I am am trying to find my USB to PS/2 adaptor to change the mouse port and see if that fixes anything.

When you are changing the nVidia drivers, are you completely
removing the OLD Drivers (with the nVidia File Remover)?

If you have not, check to see what version you have installed.
It may surprise you.

Yes, I did uninstall the drivers first. I have a question. How much of a loss will I actually get from turning off the AGP8X and running it on 4x? It is a Geforce 4 Ti-4200 with 128MB of memory. I can't really see it ever needing to use the system memory.

8X AGP allows for clock rate of 533MHz and a
transfer rate of 2,133 MB/s, double that of 4X AGP.

Most noticeable area would be in 3D Apps/Games.

Also depends on the Chipset, I/O used.

As they say, "your mileage may vary".

Have you tried MSI's Tech support for an answer, as that is a
relatively new motherboard?

I have used there web service, but haven't gotten an e-mail back yet. I figure since they make both the video card and motherboard they would have an answer, but you never know. I just don't want to wait to long because I don't know how long Newegg will let me return the video card or motherboard. I might talk him into upgrading to a ATI 9700. I've read on other forums about a similar problem all with the Ti-4200, but every manufacture under the sun. All on different motherboards and chipsets. The only thing I am worried about is that turning off 8x seems to work, but some people had MB's that didn't even support 8x and still have a similar error code.

Does anyone know what this "Parse error on CMDCD" means? Microsoft doens't have it listed in there knowledge base, or anything about CMDCD, but it seems to be video related.
