Everything has its highs and lows, pros and cons, advantages and disadvantages, etc.
In order to convince someone (the potential customer) to buy a product (such as a video game system: Xbox), one must be able to convince that someone to buy it.
In order to persuade the someone to buy it (Xbox), one must know the pros and cons of the product. Knowing the cons will help prepare the "salesman" to answer any questions that the someone (the "customer" ) will likely ask.
The customer may be a little unsure of themselves when it comes to buying the product (Xbox), because they don't know much about video games, don't know which console they should buy, etc. I am doing this for DECA (marketing), if you're curious
Here are the pros and cons that I thought of:
PROS:
- the customer's child(ren) will spend more time at home, playing the Xbox of course
- video games are proven to enhance a person's visual skills
- video games have a variety of age ratings (i.e E for "everyone," T for "teen," & M for "Mature")
- Xbox's "Platinum Hits," their bestselling Xbox games, are only $20 each, making video games more affordable
- Xbox plays the Xbox-exclusive "Halo: Combat Evolved" and will release "Halo 2" in Spring of 2004.
- the customer's child(ren) will enjoy the multiplayer gaming with his or her friends
-Xbox has a DVD player cabability that can play any DVD movies
- Xbox LIVE enable players to compete with other Xbox players around the world with voice interaction with more challanging gameplay
-Xbox Competes with the world's number one selling console system.
- Xbox has a processor (the CPU, or "brain") that is 2 and 1/2 times faster than PS2
- Xbox has higher video performance and smoother graphics than the PS2
- Xbox has a built in memory card
CONS:
- Xbox system is expensive (about $180, plus another $30 for a DVD playback kit, totaling over $200)
- Xbox doesn't have as much experience as Sony's Playstation platforms have in the video game market
- Xbox is bulky as far as its physical dimensions and size goes
- Many of the new release video games cost $50 each
- Xbox doesn't have original games and characters as Nintendo GameCube have (i.e. Zelda, Mario, etc.)
- Video games can be addictive or habit forming
- Video games are time consuming, "time flys when you're having fun"
- Many "good" video games are M for "Mature," recommended for 17+ year olds
- Xbox hasn't sold nearly as many systems as Sony's PS2 (Playstation 2) has
PLEASE HELP ME THINK OF SOME MORE!!! (BOTH PROS AND COS)
- Thanks!
