Video problem in XP

When ever Windows loads, It goes to this:

Safe mode loads fine.. Any ideas?

The only difference between the video in safe mode and regular is the driver, which also controls the resolution/refresh rate. If you can boot into safe mode, change the resolution. This will reset the resolution in normal mode back to 800 x 600. See if that works. If it doesn't, then it is most likely a driver problem, which you can also change in safe mode.

Argh.. Alright if the driver is uninstalled everything seems to be good (besides the obvious performance issues) When I install a driver it goes back to crap (see pic above). I tried a few different drivers and got the same result

Also see if they have a new driver. If not, try and get an older one.

Ghaaa.. that is Fugly. It looks almost like the memory is being run out of spec. But if safe mode works that kinda rules that out. Or its in the wrong mode. We need to know what vid card you have.

Do you run anything like AtITool or RivaTuner, anything like that?

Either the video driver, bad video RAM, or the video card is over heating or overclocked beyond spec.

Any of the above may not show up in Safe Mode.

If it's a Radeon that supports Overdrive, disable overdrive. I had similar problems with an x800 Pro with overdrive enabled.

What are your GPU temps? what's you graphic card? what drivers are you using?

The card is a Nvidia 6600GT, I've used both the latest version from the website as well the latest beta drivers I found just to test somthing else.

The card is not overclocked, I've looked at the temp a few times and its looked fine.

you vid card memory or chip is faulty..
if you've tried new drivers and have the chip running at stock speed then it's time for an RMA.
