I have been in search of a monitor/TV for a friend, and I did make a thread about it in the past but still haven't gotten a decisive answer yet.. For various reasons (most importantly his vision), the requirement is as follow.
DPI needs to be higher than that of typical PC monitors. Such as 1920x1200/24" or 2560x1600/30" makes it hard for him to read text.
1080P capable and HDCP compliant - This is quite important.
Variety of Inputs (HDMI, DVI, Component) - The more the better but needs at least 2 digital inputs.
Dell 2707 fits the above requirements perfectly, but there is a problem with that specific offering from Dell: Price. So I basically told him to wait. (He currently has a 1600x1200/21" Dell)
The other day while mindless walking down in a mall, I ran into this Viewsonic monitor.
VX2835wm
I've never been a fan of Viewsonic but this one looked nice and the price seems right. (around $600) Does anyone have a first-hand experience of this monitor? It even comes with a basic speaker which is a plus.
