vista basic and premium

Compare Editions on Microsoft's website. Home Premium is indeed more feature-packed than Home Basic.

Aero is a primary reason a lot of people want HP over Basic. Media center is another. I like Aero because it uses the GPU for desktop rendering instead of the cpu.

It's the functional equivalent of Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, except it actually works!
