A few minutes ago when I booted into windows my skin was gone, and nothing would work at all. I reset my CMOS jumpers on my motherboard and started up.
When I got into windows and clicked on an icon, nothing happened. When I stated up the task manager, it would do the "infinite window" effect and not let me do anything.
I booted into safe mode and went back a few days into system restore, and it restored successfully.
Then, when I started back up and tried to get onto firefox, it didnt work.
I looked for my ethernet port and lo and behold, it was not there. No matter what I couldnt find it.
I went to differerent restore points, and none of them worked, so I stuck in my drivers CD and installed the drivers.
Nothing happened.
I started up Everest and it didn't remember the name or manufacturer of my Motherboard, neither did CPUZ.
Finally, I got my ethernet working through the Bios, but it still doesnt recognize the motherboard.
Things seem to be working, but I don't want to find out in the future that something I overlooked is still wrong, and that my motherboard is broken.
Anyone else have any experience with this?
Thanks
edit: This is a brand new computer, not 3 weeks old, built by me and was functioning quite well (motherboard wise) until a few hours ago.
