Voodoo2 SLI

Alright, after being a lurker for quite some time, I'm ready to make my first post.

For the lesser PC in the house, a Cyrix 686 :frown:, I just picked up a second Voodoo2. I had them both in, when I found that I don't have an SLI cable. The guy I got them from doesn't have an SLI cable. I havn't been able to find an SLI cable for sale. But, I noticed that the SLI connector has 34-pins. A floppy drive cable uses 34-pins. Would it work if I connected the two using a floppy cable, or do I risk blowing the system up (which I wouldn't mind considering it's Cyrix)?

BTW, of all of the forums I lurk in, you guys are the most willing to help and I've seen the least amount of flaming from you guys. You guys rock!!!! </ass kissing>

from what i understand it's just like a floppy cable except they're male on both ends and the middle 4 conductors are twisted.
i could be wrong though.

guess you can try cutting up a floppy cable to try

you could try cutting the floppy cable, or just ask around here, or in the forsale trade forum if anyone has the sli cable you need, every voodoo2 came with one, and not everyone has sli so i'm sure you can find one. Also ditch the cyrix and get a k6-2+ if you can , they are around $50 and well your 2nd voodoo2 isn't gonna do anything with that cyrix in there

A K6 is no good for gaming either. You'd be crazy to put anything less than a Celeron into a 3D gaming system.

He said it was his 2nd system. The k6 is ok for gaming.I said ok.My son has a k63 450 with a mx in and it will play anything out today.It may not play as fast as my system but its not jerky at all. That used to be all i used till the Athlon came out. They are plenty better than the cyrix but not as good as intel or the athlon\duron.
