Voodoo4 Tint problem?

Hi,
I just bought a V4 used, but I've been having a problem with it. There is an amazingly yellow tint to the monitor. The monitor checked out fine, so that's not the problem. I'm pretty sure that its the Voodoo4. I tried messing with the settings of teh card, using 3dfx tools software, but apparently, there doesn't seem to be any blue tint. None. I slid the Blue gamma bar left/right, and it changed the display not one bit.

So, I'm wondering, is there anything that I can do, short of toosing the card through the guy's window to solve the problem? Or is my vid card absolutely borked. Thanks for the input.

Are you sure that one of the pins on the monitor
cable is not Bent or Loose (not making full contact)?

Is the color screwed up when you boot the machine?

Same basic idea as the last post. Is this one of the VooDoos that works in tandem with an existing 2D card? That is, it has a short 15 pin high-density cable that runs from a 2D card into the voodoo card? If so, that short cable would be very suspect, as would the 15 pin connector on the voodoo4 itself. You could test that with any monitor extension cable I believe. (It's been awhile since I owned a set of VooDoo cards.)

Er, I think I figured the problem out..... I was looking around at other places, and I think I might've messed up the card myself by placing it in a 845 board. There's even a section here on the AT FAQ, which states that Voodoo4's cannot be used in the 845's AGP 4x slot, coz of the voltage difference. I think I did permanent damage to the card, coz now it doesn't work right in my other comp. Oh well. $20 down the drain with that, and I so wanted a Glide capable machine....

BTW, the Voodoo4 is a standalone card, not like the Voodoo2, which needed a seperate 2D card to operate. So it's something wrong with the card; it starts with that yellowish tint to the screen too. Anyway, thanks for your help. Guess I should be more careful when plunking a card down into a new mobo.
