VS42L FHDTV versus GV42L FHDTV10A

can anyone enlighten me besides price what is different.

Different video processors. Dont know how they expect you to know that. But looking at their site, they have 3 versions of the 47" 1080P television. One with a crappy processor, one with a good one, and one with an awesome one. The crappy one does HDMI 1.2 and color isn't that great. The good one does color well but is still HDMI 1.2. The best one is HDMI 1.3 and looks really good.

EDIT: This is all in theory, I could be wrong. This is just the only thing I see thats different.

The Costco model, the VS42LF will do 1080P over the VGA input, and the buttons on the remote don't light up. The GV42LF will only do 1366 x 768, 1024 x 768, 800 x 600 over VGA, but the buttons on the remote light up.

Not true, my GV42LF does 1080p over VGA.

Vizio says it doesn't... Click the details tab, and look at Supported PC Resolutions.

EDIT: I thought about this, maybe it can do it, but they don't advise it.

GV42L FHDTV10A

Well I got the TV yesterday.....ordered on thursday.....dell gets huge kudos for such a speedy delivery.

Man this thing is beautiful. I think i've found the one I want to spend the rest of my life with.

Set up was a breeze. I was up and running playing halo 3 in less than 20 minutes. I plugged the cable directly into the TV by passing the cable box and it auto detected all the channels.

Haven't had a chance to really watch tv or movies but Halo 3 looks phenomenal in 1080p

I would recommend this. Great bang for your buck I think.
