W2K - Windows Explorer - strange happenings.

Since I upgraded some components of my rig (mobo, cpu, OS, HDD) I have had a lot of teething troubles. The one thing that puzzles me at the moment is in Windows Explorer. If I load a CD in either drive (1xCD, 1xCD/R/RW) explorer will show the volume name and contents. But, if I change the CD it still shows the same volume and contents regardless of "refreshing" and even closing the program and restarting WE. It will show the ghost of the previous directories and not the new CD's contents.

Where should I look to solve this one ?

PS: The photo explorer program that we run (ACD See) also suffers the same problem.

In Explorer, right click on the CD-ROM drive icon and select properties, then select OK. The CD-ROM should refresh. If not, follow the stuff below.

Your CD-ROM (ATAPI) could use one of two types of changes in Win2000. Determine if you usually eject the CD manually, or through right clicking on the IE/Windows Explorer icon and selecting "Eject", or via the Contol Panel>Computer Management>Storage>Removable Storage>Physical Drives >>EJECT/Inject/Inventory button (followed by media Mount or Dismount when appropriate.)

Tried the properties trick to refresh and it did work. Next question is what do I do to fix the Explorer so it will refresh automatically, as it used to under W95 and W98 ???????
