Hey guys-
I'm absolutely furious. Outlook Express hung on me twice today while shutting down, so both times, my laptop didn't shut down correctly and I wasn't careful enough to check. So I walked probably 1/4 of a mile with it in my bookbag - one of those side-slung ones. Lukily I had a lot of books in it, so I suppose the motion is dampened. I haven't had any problems with it yet, but it is quite disconcerting and I was about to shoot someone when I got back to my room because this is mine. My baby.
Anyway, in general, how susceptible to damage is a laptop hard drive when it is running? I'm going to assume there is some read-write, Windows is always doing something in the background. I guess a side-bag has a bit more rolling motion so it is better. But any experiences or ideas?
