I have played most of the races in Warhammer 1 Total war, and while i liked some and hated others, I saw the mechanic each needed and seemed to do ok with all of them. WH II, I am having some real issues especially with the Skaven. I get it, they use Numbers, and have terrible leadership.. they breed fast, its easy to replenish troops after battle. The tech tree builds lightning fast compared to other races so you can have better units ASAP but .. the better units are not cutting it. StormSkaven are getting routed by FIRST tier spear-men more often then not, Rat Ogres are wonderful against anything without Armour.. you know the stuff everybody puts in back with ARMOUR in front of it.. And yes they can steamroll them to get to the soft units, but then a rear charge from those units will happen. I know a tier 4 unit from Skaven is not going to be as good as a tier 4 Lizard man.. I just feel there is a balance problem with SKaven (and Dark Elf loyalty, but that is for another time, one can manage it but its like a whole time wasting extra to the game, not fun, just tedious to keep units close to a quick raid/battle, makes running to a tiered city for some better units a PITA) But back to Skaven. Some of the units they have (warp flamers, Abomination (well Abom is on par with other units in other armies)) are beyond incredible (how long till they are nerfed?) while other units blow so bad they could get a job at a hot air balloon factory. I know this game is very dependent on you using the RIGHT units on the enemy and up till this game I could understand the factions pretty well. I just am not grasping how to use the Skaven well. I am reduced to running 2 armies side by side to get anywhere. Having the (forget name, Insta rat platoon, 3-4-6 times a battle should really help, and early game it does, late game they are not even a distraction except to armies heavy in ranged weapons) So anybody got some tips.. I am guessing i just suck at them and they are not as bad as I feel (and please (steam forums), I know there are people who can play with both eyes closed and just tier one units and beat the game on hard, i know you want to tell me that, that's fine, I don't have your skills, I'm an AVERAGE player, telling me its to easy is not going to help me in any way, boost your ego a bit, fine go ahead, but I'm looking for some advise).
