Warm - Bawls 16.99 / 12pack

Compusa has this on-sale (nationwide?). Normally it is $20 for 12 and they are the only place I've found that has it locally. So, if the market is cornered in your area too, it's warm.

They moved it from it's old spot to a display in the aisle near the cash register, so they may be clearancing it. I also got the experience of asking some urban youth if they have any bawls.

Bawls is a caffeinated drink. It uses guarana for the caffeine source (IIRC some plant or herb from South America, but I could be wrong). It tastes like cream soda and it is very carbonated.

I purchased my first Bawls at a 7-11 a few years ago, perhaps around 2 years ago. Funny thing is that I was looking for it at the same store a few months ago and they didn't have any.

Bawls tastes really good (at least I think red bull taste nasty). Its larger. It has a really cool bottle. And its a computer geek's choice drink.

Also, contrary to what the adverts say, Red Bull DOES NOT give you wings. (what a huge letdown too.)

Thinkgeek's description of Bawls tasting like a "fruity sprite" is pretty close. I like it. I only buy Red Bull (or Rockstar) when I want to mix w/alcohol.

I agree beatle, it's pretty much on par with a "fruity sprite." Very much so. It's really good

I read the ingredients on the bottle, this indeed has caffeine.

Guarana is where the caffeine comes from; it's just a different kind, or something. I don't know how much of that is true, but I remember reading something on some energy drink once that guarana 'doesn't give you shakes like caffeine' or something. No idea.

I know that when you drink something like Monster it's got caffeine, guarana, ginseng, taurine, carnatine, and many other things that have relatively unknown effects. I've never had Bawls (heh.) so I don't know what it's all about. But the effect of most energy drinks is different than straight caffeine from something like coffee, so the other ingredients must do something.

But a word of advice, don't get hooked on this stuff. You'll regret it. :/

you are correct that that it doesn't give me shakes, nor does any other drink unless it has a volitile amount of caffiene in it.
