<< Where did you order yours. Do they still have it in stock? >>

Actually, from the FS/FT board. Got it with an extra controller, a VMU, and ensured a nice, old date for the same price . Nice guy, too. I got lucky. Type a Dreamcast search into FS/FT every day, and eventually you'll find one (much cheaper than E-bay, too! )

Damn I didn't know there was THIS much demand for the Dramcast. This is the thread that won't die.

Got mine from twogirlstrading a week ago. Ordered and received in less than a week. After reading here about their business practices I guess I was one of the lucky ones. Mine arrived new in the box with all packaging and paperwork and plays great. June of 2000 model. Would like to have another as a backup but I will stop by my local Gamestop and pickup a $49 used one they will let me see and test before purchasing.

So no "like new" dreamcast. No refund. And I highly doubt I'd ever be stoopid enough to spend $10+ to send it back to them and hope I get my money back or a new one sent back to me.

$55 for a parts dreamcast...sigh...

Just send it back. I had to e-mail them like crazy and told them I would file a complaint with PayPal, credit card company etc...Just try to get most of your money back and I didn't even recieve one.

I ordered mine from Twogirls around the 26th of December and got it a week ago. It's a little dirty but other than that it works very well and had all the original packaging too. Mines a Nov. 99 build whatever that means. Even burned a few CDRs and it works with them too.

As far as TwoGirls goes, I think they did just fine with my order. It took a little longer than expected but it was probably the AnandTech effect combined with Christmas that pushed all their orders out so far. I mean these Dreamcast threads built up very quickly so you know people were overwhelming this mom/pop outfit.

As far as comparing them to Amazon, have you seen twogirls website? It seems pretty obvious Twogirls is no Amazon. MHO, I don't think they were trying to pull anything over anyone except they couldn't handle the rush on these used/refurbished Dreamcasts even though they thought they could.

OTOH, it sounds like their return policy sucks and I would raise a stink if my unit arrived defective and they wouldn't exchange it at their cost. Guess that's why the original thread had some reservations about TwoGirlsTrading.

<< Please relay that it is our intent to get them all out and if anyone wants a refund, we are more than glad to do it. Life is too short, my grandfather died last week, and there are more important things to worry about. >>

I'm still stuck on the "...there are more important things to worry about" statement. In my view that says "why are you worrying about your Dreamcast order when there are more important things in life? Being ALIVE is the most important thing, so why worry about your $55? It's just money, isn't it?"

I may have gone in too deep on that one, but if someone told me that my order wasn't as important as life (even though in reality it isn't), as a customer I'd be pissed.

Credit Card Company: "You have missed your last two payments."
Me using the Two Girls Philsophy: "Yes, but we're all alive! That's all that is important."

I do sympathize for their apparent loss, but still...it's almost as bad as people who use "The Holidays" as an excuse weeks into the month of January for being late on something. Just fess up...YOU'RE IN OVER YOUR HEAD. YOU MADE A MISTAKE.

More often than not, admitting fault and asking for forgiveness is much better than shoveling BULLSH*T.

But you can ignore this post, because WE'RE ALL ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's my story.

I ordered the Item on Jan. 1st. Actually I ordered two of them. I recieved their automated e-mail message, but knew that they were already overwhelmed from Anandtech orders, and wasn't in a hurry to recieve them. I waited till four days ago, and called up.
I spoke to a very nice girl, soft spoken, and she took down my name and number to check whether the "sega systems" (as they called it) had been shipped - she said she would get right back to me. She didn't.

I called the next day, and someone else picked up the phone. A more vocal, older lady. I asked her if my order had been shipped, and she cut me off, asking when I had purchased (keep in mind she didn't know what I had purchased). After telling her, she said that "all items ordered after january 1st were delayed". ALL?! She was just trying to get me off the phone.

So I called 10 minutes later, hoping that the soft spoken girl would pick up, and fortunately she did. I pretended I didn't know it was here and proceeded to explain that "someone" took down my name and number and never bothered calling me back. She mumbled something to herself, evidently embarrased and sighing like she had been slaving away. She then went and checked, and ANOTHER lady, Tina, came on the phone and told me that because of some boxes arriving late, they were going to send out my order today, and to expect a FedEx tracking number by e-mail.

I recieved the number yesterday, so they are on their way.

What I have gathered?
1. They are a mom-and-daughter shop.
2. They aren't organized and nowhere near prepared to handle such large ordering
3. One of the "two girls" is nice, the other a loudmouth.
4. They are honest, but overwhelmed.
5. I would not be recieving my order, had I not pestered them.

Still, I am fine with it. Getting a "like new" dreamcast for $55 shipped, in light of the current situation is a good deal, and these kinda things always require a little effort.
