Here's my story.
I ordered the Item on Jan. 1st. Actually I ordered two of them. I recieved their automated e-mail message, but knew that they were already overwhelmed from Anandtech orders, and wasn't in a hurry to recieve them. I waited till four days ago, and called up.
I spoke to a very nice girl, soft spoken, and she took down my name and number to check whether the "sega systems" (as they called it) had been shipped - she said she would get right back to me. She didn't.
I called the next day, and someone else picked up the phone. A more vocal, older lady. I asked her if my order had been shipped, and she cut me off, asking when I had purchased (keep in mind she didn't know what I had purchased). After telling her, she said that "all items ordered after january 1st were delayed". ALL?! She was just trying to get me off the phone.
So I called 10 minutes later, hoping that the soft spoken girl would pick up, and fortunately she did. I pretended I didn't know it was here and proceeded to explain that "someone" took down my name and number and never bothered calling me back. She mumbled something to herself, evidently embarrased and sighing like she had been slaving away. She then went and checked, and ANOTHER lady, Tina, came on the phone and told me that because of some boxes arriving late, they were going to send out my order today, and to expect a FedEx tracking number by e-mail.
I recieved the number yesterday, so they are on their way.
What I have gathered?
1. They are a mom-and-daughter shop.
2. They aren't organized and nowhere near prepared to handle such large ordering
3. One of the "two girls" is nice, the other a loudmouth.
4. They are honest, but overwhelmed.
5. I would not be recieving my order, had I not pestered them.
Still, I am fine with it. Getting a "like new" dreamcast for $55 shipped, in light of the current situation is a good deal, and these kinda things always require a little effort.
