Washing machine belt

I'm in the middle of installing a washing machine belt. I bought the part. Double checked the model number, double checked with the place I ordered it from, and the belt doesn't even fit around the wheel part let alone the motor pulley. The belt doesn't seem to stretch. Do I say "abra cadabra" or "hocus pocus" and flair my fingertips at it before installing it er something?

EDIT: the GE model number is - WJSR4160G1WW

Have you looked on youtube to see if there are any videos about how to install the belt on your particular washing machine? I had to do that because the pulley went a different way than I thought it did.

The way the belt is I bet you are right and that's what I've been thinking. Either that or the previous owner of the machine changed out the wheel because I double checked the model number then the part number and they are both correct

well looks like it is the correct belt but a tool may be needed to install

ended up having to use 3 zip ties and could of used a forth.. scrubbed the hell out of the tub part too, now it's like brand new love it!
