Yeah, as said in other thread WMV-HD is much higher resolution. Make sure the discs are clean and DMA is enabled for the storage controllers is all I can suggest for the actual problems. The reason DVD can look worse on the LCD full-screen is because it is being upsampled from 480 to 1024. On your big screen TV it may not be upsampled at all, or maybe only to 540 or 720 and the larger physical size of the screen and use of lenses (presumably) smooths out imperfections as well. To improve the picture on the LCD you may want to try different de-interlacing options (namely to prevent overprocessing a progressive source) and also sometimes, in the past at least, the hardware acceleration option has affected picture quality.
