Web Link Hijacked?

Clicked a link on Yahoo search engine, the page that loads up is not the one I clicked but “AdultFriendFinder”

Hovering the mouse over the link in yahoo did display the correct link and clicking it again did take me to the correct site.


Ran AV (McAfee), Malware bytes, Super AntiSpyWare and Microsoft’s Malicious Software removal tool, but all found nothing.

Any ideas what caused this ?


Running Win 8.1 (fully updated) , Firefox 37.0.2

Does it only happen on yahoo search?
Does FF have any addons/extensions?

I would also try spybot search & destroy (free), and tell it to fix your hosts file to block bad sites.

Only happened once so far ,on yahoo search.

Installed Add-ons in Firefox. (Also DownThemAll 2.0.18 and McAfee Site advisor 3.72)

Scan on Spybot shows the following

About the hosts file?, Is there a setting in spybot ? Can't find it.

I would try Freefixer and ADwcleaner.

Cheers for the help, I am convinced there is nothing on my pc. However my wife would rather I reformat, just to be sure.
