Web TV (Plus?) $59.99

Montgomery Ward has Sony Web TV Plus advertised with a keyboard for $59.99. My store was sold out of the "Plus" package, but said also tried to say it was a misprint and it was supposed to be the classic version with a keyboard. The Plus version w/keyboard is usually around $199. Even if they give you the classic version w/keyboard, it's usually around $129. That's less than half price anyway. I still may try to price match somewhere else to get the Plus version.

In either case, it comes with six months free Internet access (after purchasing one month). Know most of us don't need it, but it's a good gift for Mom and Dad or someone else less computer literate...

It was just in Wards' sales circular in this past Sunday's newspaper. The store's website www.wards.com has a link to that circular if you need a copy. They only sell a few things online and the Web TV is not one of them.

Is it now a pre-requisite for Mom & Dad to be computer illiterate?
I feel like such a failure 'cause I taught my son and his son so much about computers.
Do I have to forget everything I learned at IBM in 30+ years now?

Don't know if WebTV will succeed in the future. For me, I will never try to use TV to browse Web.

If I'm not mistaken, a store that advertises something is on sale or specifies a sale price, has to honor the advertisement (this also applies to store displays, etc). This law is to prevent false advertisement to lure customers. ==> Ward's should give you the Web TV Plus.
