Weezer and Radiohead: A poll

Weezer: Blue & Pinkerton, hell yeah. After that, no thanks.

Radiohead: Ok, Computer was okay. They have a few songs here and there that I enjoy, but for the most part, I'll pass.

Weezer: relatively simple, formulaic college rock. Fun but not a lot of depth.

Radiohead: creative, complex, original. Much more enjoyable to listen to for me.

I do like Weezer's first album, but I've never cared to sit down and actually listen to much of the Indy stuff--Suerpchunk, Archers, Pavement. Basically, I enjoy it when it's on, but I don't really care.

Radiohead is brilliant, and I only really know OK Computer. That alone, puts them above all other Indy-type bands, if you ask me.

but I've never even felt compelled to see Weezer live.

Pinkerton is one of my favorite albums of all time, but based on their overall body of work, the album seems like a fluke.

I like Weezer quite a bit. Really their only good stuff, IMO, was the Green Album and previous albums; quite a bit of their unreleased songs and B-sides are excellent as well.

Radiohead... I think I heard that "Creep" song on MTV back in the day but thought it sucked. Haven't listened to anything else by them nor really care to.

Radiohead is excellent, Weezer, not so much.

Loved Radiohead until Kid A. I think the strength of The Bends and OK Computer put them into best of the 90s territory. Later albums went a little too electronic and eclectic for my tastes.
Weezer just needs to stop. Blue Album was great, Pinkerton was great, the rest has been the musical equivalent of Brett Favre's post Packers career.

I started this poll because a friend and I were talking and we came up with the hypothesis that if someone likes Radiohead, they also like Weezer and vice-versa. We also thought the inverse was true.

Looks like we were wrong.

As for me, I don't like either one. The only song I will actually listen to be either (out of the songs I've heard, mind you) is Buddy Holly by Weezer.

Blue (both sides) is one of my top5 all time favorite albums. Pinkerton is incredible as well, and I even like make believe, however I genuinely hate everything else.

Odd poll, what made you select these 2 bands? They are quite different IMO. Muse and Radiohead or Weezer and any other college upbeat alternative group ok(maybe Jimmy Eat World or Foo Fighters etc..), but radiohead and weezer is an odd selection to compare.
