weird problem

didnt really know where to put this, but i figure its a software problem.... my computer started acting up last night, and after i rebooted it started doing something weird... everytime something tries accessing the internet, (like explorer, outlook, etc) zonealarm pops up with the new program dialog asking me if i want to let it access the internet (even tho i've approved them before this happened)... only instead of saying "programname.exe" or something like that, everything says "programname.VXD" also when i open explorer it tells me its in running in compatibility mode... anyone know whats going on here?

What OS are you running? Did you install/change a program? Maybe you should try uninstalling/reinstalling Zone Alarm. Or you could just click ok to allow and "never ask permission in future" option.

nevermind... somehow a virus snuck past the auto-protect feature on my antivirus software... it pops up a warning everytime i navigate to the folder with one of those joke-virus programs in it, but yet it never said jack sh!t about the real virus i had until i did a manual scan... it must have snuck in with a flash cartoon i downloaded last night :disgust::|
