Weird question about Steam

So, I've tried asking this on Reddit but the post was removed immediately and after messaging the mods, they threatened to ban me if I continued to ignore their rules (which I wasn't breaking so **** em). Asked on the Steam discussions and haven't had a reply in over a week since it's all bogged down with nonsense posts.

Anyways, I've been trying to get Steam to save my uncompressed screenshots for a few games but nothing is being saved and I'd like a few of my games to not have my 4K screenshots compressed down to 2K. I did find some information from about ten years ago where someone mentioned that not all games are compatible with this feature, but other information from about seven years ago stated that every game should be saving uncompressed screenshots.

Does anyone have any information about this? I've tried Bannerlord, Witcher 3, Borderlands 3, Grim Dawn, and a few smaller indie games like Binding of Isaac and Terraria and I've tried changing the destination folder as well, but nothing is getting saved.

Presumably you mean that you're using some Steam-specific screenshotting feature and it isn't working to your satisfaction. Why not try alternative means of screenshotting, starting with the ol' Print Screen + paste?

I've been doing that but I was hoping there was a better method since it's supposed to work as written.

Heard about Ansel, never used it. Looks like it might be what I'm looking for if this feature in Steam is actually bugged. I'll check it out now, thanks.

I've done this more than a few times and even changed the folder twice. Nothing happens. If the information from about ten years ago is accurate, then it doesn't work with any of the games I listed, but Steam still takes screenshots normally. I can take a screenshot through the GeForce Experience as DAPUNISHER pointed out which seems to work just fine. I just had to change the keybinds to enable the overlay since I already use Alt+Z for Escape From Tarkov and I had to disable the overlay when I built my new PC.
