Weird SLI and HDMI output issue

I recently added a second GTX660 for SLI, got a really good deal on it so it was hard to pass up. The cards are now running in SLI and my main monitor is connected via DVI. My TV is connected via HDMI but for some reason it is no long get detected by the first card.

Whenever I plug the tv into the second card, it's detected but I can't use it since the drivers want all of the monitors to be on a single card. I have tried switching the cards around to see if the HDMI port was having issues on that card but the results are the same.

Any ideas?

Specs:
Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD4H

2x8gb Corsair
2xAsus GTX660

I had a similar problem at one point. I think what I did was disable SLI, then put the second monitor into the first card and then reenable SLI afterwards. But I should also mention there is a performance bug here that results in both monitors having very low frame rates. I haven't found a workaround for the second problem.

Turns out I'm an not that smart.

Looks like the screens need to be connected to the bottom card. For whatever reason, the top card has the HDMI port disabled. Now that both screens are connected to the bottom card, everything is working as it should.

Now the question is, when I get two more screens, does that mean that all four need to be attached to a single card? So one monitor will have to be connected via DisplayPort, correct?

Sorry for the double post.

So plugging in the monitor and TV into the bottom card solves the issue of being able to use both while SLI is enabled but it creates a new issue. The screens don't display anything until windows gets to the login screen. So now if I need to get into the bios, I need plug the monitors into the top card.

Any ideas on how to get the outputs working on the top card?

Hi, im not sure about boot screen...however perhaps a workaround would be to hook one of the screen up with a spare cable to the 1st card so that monitor has 2 inputs?..it should automatically switch when Windows starts?
