Yeah, that host was addressing Arnold by name. He clearly thought he was having a conversation with a person.

haha Doh, they did address that didnt they...I forgot thats they reason they were talking about the guy in the first place.

I was a bit disappointed with the 3d episode, but it still seems like setup up in GOT.

The plot progressed, at any rate.

I'm still waiting on something somewhat epic to happen, they keep dropping hints.

The bullets could be advanced versions of pre-fragmented rounds but on the microscopic level so that when they hit anything other than a guest, they disintegrate into dust but have electronics that interface with the hosts that instruct them to maintain structural integrity. That would probably be possible with some sort of intelligent self-assembly tech. Then if you get hit with a round it would be like getting hit with a shotgun blast of microscopic powder. It would still hurt but wouldn't do significant damage - although I guess that would depend on the mass and velocity.

You could probably extend the same concept to edged weapons but my guess is that those are handled differently. Remember the bunch of hosts around the unlit campfire caught in a loop because the only one who had weapons (ax) privileges (to chop wood) had gone rogue? There'd be no reason to limit privileges if edged weapons used the same tech but in theory there's no reason they couldn't.

That's still pretty dangerous if the hosts aim at your head.

The hosts are probably programmed to only shoot center mass, so that wouldn't happen. My assumption anyway. When Ed Harris was taking hits, they were all to his shoulders and chest.

this whole time I was thinking that this is something like the Matrix...hyper real VR setup. So the guests are actually experiencing everything in the flesh?

It's starting to lose my interest. The plot seems very disjointed and extremely confusing. It feels more like a collection of interesting vignettes set in this world than a coherent story so far, and it isn't working for me

Had to rewatch the episode. This is a show that you can't watch in the background at all without losing track of what's going on.

Even paying attention, there are so many different things going on. I feel like before the final episode or two I'll want to re-watch the first handful anyway.

I don't see how it's possible to think that. You see them dipping the bodies in this bio fluid and printing with 3D bio printers in the intro.

One thing I really do like is the tech in the show. Just the different things they use to control the world or analyze or view. I have no idea what's realistic and what's not (it's sci-fi after all) but it's cool.

The fortress of solitude was pretty cool. It was the most grandiose version of it I can recall ever seeing in a movie or tv series though. Seemed a little over the top, but wtf.

They did explain it during the scene in Ford's office.
Arnold was the other founder of the park with Ford. The reason they 'hear' his voice was part of the base programing. I wouldn't be surprised if Arnold turns out to be alive and is running around the park.. possibly wearing all black..

I think Arnold is going to turn out to be the ghost in the machine. Maybe he modeled the hosts' consciousness after his own or something like that and that's the code that's talking to them.

I heard a couple of things (just like Trump), that the creators of Westworld had lunch with George R. R. Martin and he suggested a GOT themed park for Westworld.

And, what if Dr. Bernard is a host? Bernard Lowe is an anagram for Arnold Weber.

My favorite theory so far is that William is the man in black during his first visit 30 years ago.

When the guy went to talk about what he did in the real world we saw that Ed Harris is a filthy roleplayer.

This episode felt more like treading water than anything. Perhaps it should have only been 8 episodes. Hopefully we get some real plot movement soon.
