They might be more expensive, but if you are an audio buff. you will love these. But i agree the price is kinda high.

IMO, I think creative speakers blow, distort and cannot go that high. 510d maybe good but out of his price range. From many good and known audiophiles, they have the monsoon 505. I hear they have a nice tight sub and good midrange. You would probably get a better answer going to 3dsoundsurge.com and going into their forums.

Of the three listed, get the Creative. They're not bad for the price, despite what the all anti-Creative zealots in this forum say.

for the same pricerange i would go with the logitech z-560's they are your best bet for under 140 USD so i think that is in your price range

even though they are not 5.1

I have the Aopen 2.1 setup, and for the price it was definately worth it. It definately doesn't compare to Klipsch or any of the other more expensive models, but if you're not completely serious about sound and you want a cheap 5.1 setup, Aopen isn't bad at all. BUT - I don't knwo if Creative is better since I've never heard them.

I have a question. I know all about surround sound, as I sold it for years at Circuit City to get me through college. But I never understood how you set it up for your computer. Do you set speaker stands behind your computer chair, and just manuveur yourself around them when you want to sit down? Do you mount them on your wall behind you? My computer's in my family room, so that wouldn't work. Tell me how you do it.

well, hes looking for 5.1. of course, if i were him, id go buy logitech z560s. they are awesome even tho 4.1. just a tad bit higher priced, only a little. but yea, insipre 5.1s, the analog ones arent too bad, sorta flimsy, but they arent terrible at all

I would say the best out of these 3 are the creatives. Note that you have to use an audigy or a live5.1 for 5.1 on these speakers though. Personally, I would get the logitech z560s

I have two convienently placed pieces of furniture (a bookshelf and a dresser) to either side and slightly behind me, so thats where my surround speakers are placed.

I would take a good look at this deal. For $299 - Videologic DigiTheatre DTS. At this price, nothing even comes close to this system. Now if i only had $....

I have the Cambridge Soundworks DTT3500's.. They came with tripods for the back speakers.. However, I'm going to purchase the Creative Labs Surround Station which is basically something that looks like 2 fishing poles that hang behind you and you hook up your speakers which are in mid-air, no wires, no fuss, no mess..

I'd go for the Creatives without a doubt.. Those babies are the best bang for the buck you'll find in speakers, imo..

The Monsoons look fairly nice but a bit pricey for your range. I would go with the Creative Inspires that you linked, they look pretty nice and seem to be a great deal too. Good Luck!

Yes the megaworks 510D will stand up quite well but not at the price it is going for. The Z560's is a 4.1 system and it is not as musical as the megaworks or the digitheatre. At $299 the digitheatre is a steal! Imo, best price performance champ.

I have listened to all of those systems but the aopen and of those choices i would get the monsoon MH505's. The imaging of the monsoons is far better than that of the inspires, and they are very accurate musical speakers. The inspires coloured the sound a bit too much for my taste and the bass sounded muddy.

I have been using the Creative Inspire 5300 speakers with an Audigy for a few months now. They are outstanding speakers for the price. I would definitely recommend them.

megaworks is 349.99 from creative and $299 from pcnation so in fact i think that would be the price/performance + performance champ in this price range

mwave should have them for $274 + shipping on 3/25
