This is on my list to try. Did you use the traditional French method or try something else?
Yeah. I don't really like absinthe any other way; ice, cold water and a (small) sugar cube. It's not a versatile drink!
I really like pastis and absinthe is like a stronger tastier pastis I guess.
I can't really imagine enjoying it any other way, this one is 72%abv so even with the water its got a kick to it!

Edit: I don't have a dripper for the water so I just keep my cycling water bottle in the fridge. That has a very annoying sippy lid that drips just right!

The only real use for 151 overproof rum is in cocktails that have a lot of sweetness and/or citrus, namely tiki and tiki adjacent. Like this would absolutely cook in a simplified hurricane recipe.

There are some rums out there that are in the high 50% and low 60% also aged in ex bourbon barrels that are really fantastic. At 75% if I was drinking it straight I'd be hard pressed to describe a taste profile other than "fire".
I'll try it neat and let you know how it goes.
It certainly tingles! Has a great taste but I kinda worry about the safety of drinking something that strong!
I think ginger beer and lime is the way forward with it!

I like spirits around 80 proof. Some I prefer a little stronger, like an Islay whisky, but 80-84 is about perfect. I top out at around 100 proof, and after that start adding a bit of water as a matter of course.

This is also a FWP, cause I just used my last two bags. I really liked this one, and was saving the bags for "later". I guess "later" came tonight. I'll probably get some more, but I want to draw down my tea reserves, unless I find a good deal like I did last time.

Yellow Bird hot sauce is good for squirting on (fake)chicken tenders. It's a little sweeter than I'd like, but the packaging is convenient, and I don't mind the sweetness as much on the (fake)chicken. The bottles are also useful as applicators for oil and stuff. I save all of mine, cause the packaging is unique, and would be hard to come up with quickly when something like that is needed.
