today it's good to be me;

this stuff is dirt cheap.
on the left is a Ardbeg Corryvreckan, 57.1% cask-strength single malt from Islay. Peated to fuck, smoky and spicy, it's a masterpiece, at just over fifty quid the bottle. RIght side we have a Bowmore Tempest 55.9% also cask strength, also Islay. Fifty five pounds. Unfortunately it's made in Bourbon barrels (my fault for not reading properly the description), not my type of whisky, but still failry decent. I'll probably share this with my friends.

Easy enough for me to buy two of these each payday, and it's not like you drink these in a day.

Next up, Laphroaig and Caol Ila.

Good alcohol is necessary for a good cocktail, but a waste for a mixed drink.

I want to qualify that a bit, because I have had some cheap vodka that was gag-worthy even in a mixed drink, so I like to go for a slightly higher quality with vodka. For instance, they sell a vodka here called Idaho Silver that's just nasty, but Seagram's has a vodka that is relatively free of offensive flavor, or any flavor for that matter, which is perfect for mixing.

I have never wanted to visit Canada until trying their brews.... Everything from La Fin Du Monde to Trois Pistoles has made me want to take a trip to Quebec all on its own. Hand down my favorite brewery..... Just a damn shame, apparently they sold out to a Japanese macro brewer (Sapporo)

Lucky for us not much has changed. Sapporo, unlike InBev supports the little guy and embraces the wonderful world of taste. They run no anti micro commercials, they actually understand diversity of size and type and taste for the client actually helps everyone not just them. If they ever follow InBevs actions it will be the day I stop buying Unibroue. And THAT will be a very sad day!

Actually drinking the mead that's in the fermenter. One of the best meads I've ever put to my lips. So complex and smooth, several additional flavors are detected at different temps.
As soon as this batch is bottled I will be starting another batch of the exact same. I think I will enter thins one in the mazer cup.
