Not butterscotch. Kind of bittersweet and herbal. A horehound candy is what it reminds me of I think.Nooooo ... that is some butterscotchy shizz ... IIRC

Halls Wine & Spirits in Colleyville usually has good stuff. Lonestar Beverages definitely has a good selection. They also run two growler bars/bottle shops called Taps & Caps in FW and Lewisville. Webb Chapel Beer & Wine in Carrollton has a good selection as well. You can of course check out all the Specs and Total Wine locations.
Stuff like Parabola disappears the day of release usually. Same with MH Acheron but you might have some luck with random Kroger’s or whatever. Central Market also carries plenty of decent beer and always gets the local specialty releases.
Just got back from my trip to DFW area.
First, Lonestar Beverages sucked. Their selection seemed pretty limited overall as far as anything out of the ordinary that can't be had at a typical big HEB. Of course, maybe I just caught them at a bad time.
Stopped by Craft Beer Cellar on the way home - and HOLY SHIT I love this place. It's a good thing I don't live near this or I would easily spend $100+ every time. They had plenty of MH Acheron for me to grab - as well as some other rarities that I haven't seen in other places. Awesome stuff!
I don’t think I’ve posted these yet. Some new, but mostly old:
Nom nom. That Acheron is so damn good.
How did you get those Prairie's? Are you a Prairie Dawg member or find another way to buy them off someone?
Jealous about trying those, but God damn it just seems ridiculous....Acheron is always good. A lot of my friends are prairie dawgs and I’ve been able to try a number of the bottles at shares or through trades. I was able to buy a share of the Mallowdramatic barrel so I got ten bottles of it

$500 to join the club and you have the ABILITY to buy the exclusive beers... AND you have to fucking drive to the brewery in Oklahoma Everytime there is a release and continue to pay high dollars for the release itself.
I love beer. I love Prairie. But that is just silly.
It’s annoying but it works for them. They make a ton of money on this shit without having to spend money on distribution. I wish shipping was an option. I’d be a member of several brewery programs if only they would ship.
Solid budget whisky, but not quite as good as it used to be imo. I think they may be adding more grain to the blend. Didn't stop me from buying a 1.75L bottle today though :^)Famous Grouse

I thought it tasted different as well. Yeah, it's still good for the money. I can get a 1.75L bottle for under $28 here.
Did you ever try Speyburn? It's just a few dollars more. Not bad, and it's a single malt.
