Bell's Expedition Stout. One of my favorite russian imperial stouts. Highly recommend if you like that style...it can usually be found in a bottle shop, ABC, Total Wine etc style of place in early fall through late winter. Lots of dark chocolate and fruit in this one.

Picked up a case of Rolling Rock the other day. Another macro brew in my quest to find solid drinkable not bud, not Coors macros. (I understand that a lot of these are still owned by InBev, but they have a different recipe).

It was great. Really light, fresh, tastes like beer pale ale. Need a nice drinkable pale ale for a party? Rolling Rock is a solid choice.

- Not only is Strauss milk delicious (not ultra pasturized, non homogenized, cream on top) the glass bottle program to reduce waste is incredible. The model should be adopted for a lot more food packaging.

Reminds me of my FIL's grumpy old man routine " When we were kids we had recycling... It was called washing glass bottles"

Yeah, the first couple time we bought it, we didn't know the bottles were returnable, oops. Then a cashier mentioned the $2/bottle deposit, "Huh, what?"

I wonder if glass bottles do limit waste. Takes a lot of fuel to handle glass. Biggest benefit I see, is feral glass is pretty harmless. Plastic OTOH can cause mischief. That's a serious question btw. I think it would take an intensive analysis to determine which is truly more "environmental" when everything's considered.

- Way I see it, the delivery truck that drops off the bottles is going back to the distri center anyway, might as well use the "empty" return trips to haul bottles back.

Yeah you use a bit more fuel driving a loaded truck instead of an empty truck, but the savings in one time plastic waste is huge.

I agree though, needs to be some science on how the environmental impact is shifted/what is actually saved.
