iPhone 6 - 64GB. Replaced my iPhone 4 - 8GB.

Didn't necessarily need it but with the stupid way that Verizon is giving credits these days, thought 'Why not?!?!'.

Nothing much here but some small gifts such as dress socks and wool socks and small tools.

I clean up the storage area and found a few items that are brand new (still in the original boxes) such as a pair of hiking boots and dress shoes. Finder keeper

Planning to get an Ipad and a cheap Android phone. Windows phone sucks because most of the good apps are for Apple and Android.

I don't really know what my family got for me. We aren't going to get together to open gifts until Sunday because my lame sister is off gallivanting with her boyfriend. I want to see people marvel at my awesome gift choices!

I got myself a few various things. I decided to build a pfSense machine using a Skylake Pentium as it supports AES-NI, and if I decide to move away from pfSense, I have a viable HTPC! I also decided to finally replace the PSU in my desktop as the desktop has always had some strange issues and the PSU has been the only thing that I haven't ever replaced. :hmm: I also got myself a new hammer drill as my old one was a super cheap one from Amazon that had a standard chuck. This new one has SDS+, which I needed for a 16" bit that I'm using for running RG6 wires out to where the cable connects.

Santa brought me thunderstorms this morning which killed $200 worth of networking gear including a switch, my UniFi AP and my HDHomeRun Prime along with possibly the need of an electrician to check my electrical since I now have a GFI outlet which refuses to reset. The fire department is at the neighbor's house across the street as they apparently have something a bit more major going on, I'm not sure if they were the ones that took the lightning hit or not.

He also brought me torrential rains which are causing a lot of local flooding bringing the possibility that we won't be doing Xmas dinner over at the friends' house this evening.

Ouch... the storms seemed kind of bad today, but I didn't think they were that bad! I was actually a bit worried as I was preparing dinner to be cooked on all electric appliances that knowing my luck, we would have a power outage in the middle.

As for your GFCI outlet, where is it located? I had a switch that refused to reset after/during the rain simply because it was too moist. It turns out that while the cover appeared to work fine, it wasn't doing its job. I replaced the cover, and it began to reset just fine.

The worst part of killing your SiliconDust has to be that you have to call your ISP up (Comcast?) after you replace it and play the "Will They Enter the Values In Correctly?" game. Ugh, I hate that game. Also, I wonder if the MCard inside the unit is still fine?

A wallet and a couple of shirts. My wife had some movie tickets for us in the wallet. I really needed a new one; I have no idea how many years old my other one was. Plus, I get to buy whichever table saw I want - wife wasn't about to pick one out.

A pot that stirs itself. Saves time in the kitchen, frees it up for neffing!

Yeah, there's a few standalone units on the market, with the Stirio 2 probably being the best among them. The two things I like about the KitchenAid model is (1) it comes with a multi-cooker, so you can use it for a lot of things, and (2) it's a stand-alone appliance, which I feel a lot more comfortable leaving on (especially thanks to timer settings) than leaving my stovetop unattended. Same deal with a slow-cooker...I'll leave that thing on all day while I'm at work, but I'd never do that with a pot on my range. I also like the paddle & flipper design of the KitchenAid, as well as the variable-speed & intermittent-stir settings. Plus it's readily available (and well-reviewed) state-side, which is nice.

I got it at nearly half off thanks to Kohl's crazy discount system, and I still think it was too much, but it definitely fit the bill as a fun Christmas present & will hopefully earn the investment back by actually being useful for cooking meals. I'll probably post more in the Anova thread once I get a feel for it. Some of the recipes I've been working on mastering lately require anywhere from 20 to 90 minutes of stirring, which is just the worst when it's constant stirring & you're stuck babysitting it instead of goofing off elsewhere. Simple example, I made this excellent dulce de leche recipe, ran out of the room twice for less than a minute to grab something, and it overflowed both times & smoked out my kitchen. iirc it took a good 45 minutes total to finish. Came out great, but I wish I could have been watching Netflix on the couch instead of stirring it constantly, so this will be pretty nice as a lazy-enabling kitchen tool

We got a new dog. We had to put down our previous dog of 16 years on November 25th, the day before Thanksgiving. Man...that day, the worst.

The new dog is a fairly young rescue that we picked up last Sunday; 10 months old. We think she is a puggle (pug/beagle mix) but won't be sure until the DNA testing comes back. Whatever she is, she is sweet...and a chore at the same time. Housebreaking sucks. At least it's only peeing that's the issue.

Nothing, didn't even get myself anything, which is great because I'm purging tons of the stuff I never use anymore.

From someone who's been there, you have my deepest symphony! One of the hardest things that I ever had to do in my life. So very sorry!

I received two beautiful gifts. My eyes, as a stage IV cancer patient I was able to open them this morning & enjoy another Christmas with my family.

God Bless You! Now that's a REAL gift.

I was going to post something about my new Lenovo 11.6" laptop, but in hindsight, that's rather un-important.

I was able to spend Christmas with my Mom, that was nice.

(I gave her one of those laptops too, she was thrilled.)

I don't ask for much, hadn't even had any bourbon in a long time.

The wife leaked out somewhere that I like chocolate, so people have been sneaking Ferrero Rocher, Lindor, and a few other types at me. Is kinda funny, have a small stockpile of chocolate piled up

She received one of the Amazon 7" Fire tablets, has been happy walking around messing with it.

Not top of the line, but I was pretty impressed with what the little thing can do for what it is. She is having fun with it. Pretty impressive for $50 bucks. Even better if you are all ready a Prime user.

I got a GearVR for my Note5.

It's pretty cool, netflix and such in VR is pretty awesome, it's a bit too heavy for long term use, but it's neat to play around with and get a feel for VR.
