hey everyone, well i found this board online this morning, and well what can you guys tell me about it? the good and the bad? i still want to be able to use my x800pro AGP card. but this board appears to have two different chip plugs. and the 1000mh FSB. i am looking into another stick of my corsair pc3200 LLPT memory, im guesing another 512. boost me up to a gig of memory on the system.
so to go back to the mobo, would this be a good pick for me at the moment. all i would have to do is get a chip for it and then put my stuff into it. ok thanks. any imput would be great.

I don't see how it's useful unless you've already got a socket 754 cpu and don't want to spend money on a processor right now, but would still like the option to upgrade to a skt 939 CPU.

Unless you've got a skt 754 cpu stashed somewhere, I'd suggest looking at a Nforce 3 socket 939 mb which will also have an AGP port.

Edit: EPoX EP-9NDA3+ Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce3 Ultra ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail

That's the motherboard that I bought because I wanted to upgrade to an A64 and keep my 6600GT AGP graphics card.

It's just an example, there are many more nforce3 boards both cheaper and more expensive than that one.

there are many nicer boards, but budget boards usually surprise me, or completely blow up

You could do that with the board I linked. The ULi chipsets seem to be quite competitive from the benches I've seen, however. At this point, I'd prefer the nforce3 chipset for an AGP motherboard just because it's more mature, and has been proven to be reliable.

As far as bang for your buck, it depends on whether you're willing to overclock. That board is quite goods for overclocking.

I've got a winchester 3200+ running at 2448mhz (stock 2000mhz). That means that I paid about 190 USD and achieved the performance of a 3800+, which retailed ~$200 more at the time.

The truth is that I had to back the clock multiplier from 10x to 9x to achieve the best overclock possible. Since the main difference between a 3000+ and a 3200+ is the clock multiplier (9x and 10x respectively), I believe that I could have purchased a 3000+ for only ~$150 and gotten similar results. Hows that for price/performance?

So if you're brave enough to overclock, this is my suggestion.
