What else can I try???

This is my first attemp at Ocing...
650 duron on 8kta3, Currently running at 918 mhz -- 9x 102/34 and cmos Vcore of 1.775v (shows as 1.84v in sisoft). Temp 40c.

Can't seem to run fsb faster than above after several attemps. If I try 10x, the sys boots at 652mhz.

Should this chip be expected to run with a higher than 9 multiplier?
I didn't try more than 10x.

Would like to try using 133 fsb but have heard there are many problems associated. Also, if I do switch to 133fsb, would I be able to keep the 9x? I am hopeing to get the little 650 up to 1 ghz.

Hmm I guess you did the Penciltrick?
Sorry to say but you didi not get all 4 properly closed. That is what makes some multiplier settings not to work.They either fail to boot or boots up att another speed. Redo it or better stil take my word for it that the penciltrick is not reliable. I did it carefully twice and got partial sucess for a week before it completely failed. A defogger fix kit(conductive paint) fixed this for good. Recommended.

Thanks, Yep! I went down to AutoZone forked over my $6 and almost went blind using that magnifier. Finally after several attempts felt like I had a good quality bridge closing.

I guess I could take another look at it, since I got plenty of tooth picks and about 1/3 of a bottle left.

Any other ideas???
