Too much wasted wall space. More decorative than functional because they don't really close tight to seal the pod bay portal. Plus stuff can collect behind them. Tell her spiders love to hide back there.

If she wants a sliding door instead of swinging, point her to a pocket door that goes inside the wall. Harder to install though. Just a bit.

Can still do the swoosh sound.

You clearly have not dealt with women. And the contractors are installing the stuff. Maybe I can do the klaxon and rotating lights like the nuke bunker doors.

Wait, Star Trek Red Alert!

Closed my garage door Sunday. Something happened. Bent the tracks, rollers came off. Called a recommended place. Came out same day. New insulated door, new tracks, new opener with belt drive and battery backup, paint the door. $11,999.

Installed yesterday. It be quiet! Door painted today.

Luckily I sold my Patek Philippe and some jewelry awhile back.

Wow that must be a big door. Mine was around 1-2k to replace a few years ago if I recall. I went with the lower end version though and it is a pretty small door.

Oh right I forgot about the opener motor. I opted to go manual with mine, saved a lot there. And yeah yours is probably like 4x the size. My garage is super small.

I installed the same type of insulated door, and a new opener w/keypad. $1300.

Of course mine was not painted, so I think you got a hell of deal...
