According to that chart, I'm "Upper Income". By Connecticut cost of living standards, though, I'm in the middle class.

Hell, I still can't afford a decent house in the town where I work. It would probably be around $600K for a nice 3 bedroom house with a garage that isn't a dump.

I still think that we should all try to make it big by starting our own cryptocurrency. Let me know if you want some ATOTCoin, guys

I'm not really sure why they factored in household size. How many children you have doesn't affect 'middle' vs 'upper' income (unless you're having them work in a factory at age 8 or something) it just affects how it feels and is used. Those numbers seem a bit off too. $22,924 for a kid? Department of agriculture says it costs $14,000 annually. UNICEF says $16,200. Sounds like more Pro-Spawner propaganda to me

It's all about the cost of housing. I make good money but it's incredibly expensive to live in a safe neighborhood with good amenities.

Lol had to change mine from middle to upper. Those numbers seem low to me.

Charts like this is meaningless as it all depends on your location and cost of living.

I would live like a literal king with my household 300k income in dallas or atlanta. (No state income tax, 500k hones are mansions)

Here in NJ it's nothing special. We barely have positive cashflow after 2 childcare.

Bachelor living on a 6 figure income in the NYC area. Apparently that's upper income, but I disagree. Chart is bullshit.

Per the chart, middle on the high end. Based on the local CoL, I feel like middle middle.

That chart is says more about gender and family stereotypes than it does about income.

One might reasonably conclude that this is a troll post.

If you count my live-in girlfriend and I, we'd be well above upper income. Just by myself I'm upper income but she'd be between upper/middle. In Los Angeles though, even our combined income is at best middle income.

Those numbers are stupid and assume we all live in 'Everywheretown' ... where I live I'm mortgage free and considered upper, but if I was to move to Toronto, all of a sudden I can only afford a 1 bedroom condo and am house poor.

Yep, useless outside of a context of region. I'm upper solo, middle as family, could live like a king in random_southern_town, moderate positive cashflow in my current location (primarily due to out of control housing costs).

Upper for me, I usually hit close to 80k. I hit a bit over this year.

That always makes me reflect on needing to be more frugal because I should not be this broke. I should have tons of savings but I don't. There are some costs that are hard to track since they arn't constant, like gas for car, and groceries and fast food, but I should perhaps start tracking those. Fast food might be one thing I should cut. $10+ for a meal adds up fast. That and I need to eat healthier anyway. Working on that.

Municipal taxes and utilities are a killer though, they go up every year by a large percentage.

Red, for fast food, avoid soda. They charge too much for it
