I understand that it uses small cells and it's supposed to be fast, but why is this used? what's the differences between this and ethernet, other than packet sizes? what's asynchronous about it?
Asychronus Transfer Mode..... It is a little odd.... More like connect the pipes than routing.... I don't really want explain everything to you about it..... I think you'd be better off reading it. It does have predefined Cell sizes though (53 bytes)..... We use ATM... That is how I know.
