What is my problem?

I have a PC with the stats of this:

Abit KG7-Raid
Athlon XP 1900+
256 PC2100 Crucial Ram
40 Gig 7200 RPM Maxtor Harddrive
Geforce II MX400


This is my friends:

Soltek Purple Ray w/333
Athlon XP 1700+
128 PC2100 ? ram
40 Gig 7200 RPM Maxtor Harddrive
Geforce I


We both have good PC's but mine is a bit better in terms of stats. I was wondering why we both are running the Quake III timedemo and he gets about 87 fps and i get around 47 fps. We are both running at 1024*768 and i just don't understand why this is running worse on mine? If anyone can help please do. We are also both running Windows 98 2nd edition.

Your MX 400 is most likely the culprit, he may have DDR on his GeForce card.

I'm not sure but from what i know that it is one of the best Geforce I cards out. I didn't know that the geforce I had DDR. Did they make alot of those.

Do you have Anti-Aliasing turned on?

i'm sorry i'm kinda new to all of this but how do you find out or turn on the AA?
