Should be moved to OT.

But associates degree in LAN technology and 1 year certification in PC technician studies.
I'm finishing up my bachelors in industrial technology right now. I'm also CCNA certified, Net+ certified and A+ certified.
Dont know if I'm going to get my Masters or Doctorate yet but certainly a possibility.
Education is really important to me but I'd say even though I have a decent amount of formal education that I'm more self educated than formally educated.
Almost all of my free time is spent studying and learning a number of topics of personal interest that can't really be quantified in degrees. I think both are invaluable experiences. Knowledge is power.

In a couple months I leave for the Georgia Institute of Technology to try to earn a BS in CS. It's a tough place, but they've got some really great courses if you can make it far enough (like Video Game Design and Programming). If I can make it through I'll get a valuable degree (and more importantly a lot of knowledge/skills).

I'm worried about offshore outsourcing, but if I go into the co-op program and stick to one company for a couple years I shouldn't have trouble getting a job. Hopefully the job won't go away any time soon though.

I really don't want to give up on my goals and intended major, but if things are looking bad enough for people with CS degrees I may switch. I don't want to, but I might HAVE to.

EDIT: I build computers part time at a local store right now until I leave for college.

I agree, move to OT. But anyhow, here I am in a nutshell

1) Working on Bachelor's in Computer Information Systems (Junior)
2) Have my CCNA and A+ Certs, now working on MCSE and MCDBA
3) Plan on getting my MBA, focusing on Information Technology

I build and maintenance computers in my spare time, sometimes for free, sometimes for a fee...guess it depends on my mood...haha.

I worked two years towards telecommunications but never bothered to get all the certifications I was educated for. I'm currently working on my bachelors in electrical engineering at Wentworth Institute in Boston and will probably end up at WPI for my masters.

edit:

P.S. - i hate telcom

Decided to get further education when I was 36yrs old (was single mom)
Went to Nashville Tech and took networking, Novell 4, Windows NT and a bunch of other stuff.
Only had one more year out of 4 to graduate with a degree in Communications Technology. I had no alimony no child support and wouldnt take any government handouts so I could not afford it any longer and had to drop out.
Kept promising I would go back now that I can afford it, but use the money for my daughter's college instead. By the time she is done (2 more yrs) my credits will probably be expired.

edit: poor spelling!

I'm a die-maker, which did involve schooling through a 4 year apprenticeship.

Although, I did get a Bachelors in Industrial Management just to make myself more employable if I should ever lose my job.
