I had to throw out yet another mouse mad because the corners curled up and the actual top bit was coming off of the foam underneath. This crap always happens to me So anyone here have a good reccommendation for a durable pad?

Ive read a review of 4 or 5 gamer pads on toms hardware, some were made of steel and others of glass, i quite liked the idea of a steel mousepad, not glass though, the one they said was the best was the one they dont sell in the UK. I cant remember what it was called though, it came in a tin case and had two sides to it, dosent matter as its not for sale though. It wasent steel or glass but apparently it was still durable.

Should i get a steel pad? Or somthing else?

The RATZPad is nice but really loud. Its too rough and hard.
The steel pad is good but almost too big.

The other ones are nice. It just depends on whether you like cloth or plastic.
Am currently using the cloth on my internet machine and the plastic on my game machine.
They both work fine.

The other two are sitting in my closet and may not get used anytime soon.

EDIT: Steel Pad is also a name. The one I got is just really tough cloth.

Plenty of good mouse pads,so in the end personal preference,I think the one you are referring too above is the fUnc pad,can buy it and many others in the UK from here.

fUnc pad info.

I used to have a corepad but now I just use my desk top (using a razer copperhead)

Glass is very nice but with a laser mouse it doesn't really make a dramatic difference IMO. Maybe I'm not the gamer I once was though... (not into twitch action games really)

It was exactly like that pad actually, waset called funcpad though. It had the tin box, the two sides, and the mouse clip. It probably the same thing except the one i saw was possibly renamed for marketing. I was looking at the steelpad 4S from overclockers.

OK, in all honesty, when it comes t tracking, whether it's cloth, steel, or glass, will really make no difference. What you're looking at a mousepad for is your preferred kind of traction.

I have tried so many mousepads and I like none of them. I haven't tried those $20 to $50 mousepads, I don't know if they are any better. My issue is not tracking. My issue is the mouse doesn't move smoothly on the mousepad surface. I am picky...you can say that. When I move the mouse and stop and then changing direction, I can feel the mouse sticks to the surface and then move again. I don't know if you know what I mean. I just hate that little sticky feeling. I don't like to use cloth mousepad since it is not smooth at all.

I have used MX1000 and then G5. They are both doing the same thing. If anybody can recommend me a mouspad that doesn't have this issue, I am willing to give it a try.

Are you talking about the huge soft matte one that's the size of two keyboards? I have a couple of those. I use them as foot trays for eating and watching videos on the PC lol.

My Graphire wireless mouse uses the Wacom digitizing surface as a pad. A great twofer.

Those Supermats are famous for being the best budget gaming pad.

WIth my G5 i've found nothing compares to a piece of smooth backed white card, the mouse slides perfectly across it, who needs to spend money on a top grade mouse mat when you can steal some card from college!

See sig. I love my exactmat, it will work flawlessly with other high end mice as well, i have tried an MX510 and a G5 on it, both were just as slick. I really like the new steelpad, i dont know the model, but it has cool graphics cast all over it, and chunks of rubber at the bottom randomly placed to help grip. I might get it.

I also have the $4.99 black pad from Fry's. It kicks butt and looks great with a Logitech G5 on top of it. Plus after spending $60 on a G5 I wasn't in the mood to buy an expensive mouse pad
