Sky High was fluff but fun -- it's a throwback to the kind of harmless Disney movies Kurt Russell starred in as a kid (Computer Wore Tennis Shoes, etc.)

When you're in the mode for something darker and more serious, see "American Psycho." I thought Christian Bale was good in Batman, but he was way, way better as Bateman. Just watched in for the first time tonight, great movie.

For something a little slower and witty than your usual mainstream fare, how about "The Station Agent"?

And just because I watched it just now and absolutely loved it, I recommend "The Barbarian Invasions" despite you not wanting anything serious. (Note: Spoken in French with subs)
