What Should I Do?

My parents bought me a Monte Carlo SS for my birthday. My grandma wanted to do something for my car, so she got personal license plates. My name is Andy, and when I was younger, they called me Andyman. I have grown out of that name. She did it without asking my parents if I would like it, because she wanted it to be a surprise.

Will I get ridiculed for that? Do you think I will look like a tool? Am I caring to much?

I don't want to be like WTF GRANDMA THAT IS STUPID!!!! But, you know...

EDIT:: My parents work hard, and our family is pretty well off... And me having a nice car when I'm 16, with the ANDYMAN license plate is kind of saying "Hey, I have a better car than you..."

Yeah, at least you're not having problems with duct tape. *sigh*

Thats not bad at all, you may catch shit from your friends if they know the meaning though.
One of my best friends, whom I actually work with is named Jeff. I talk to his mom on occasions and she calls him Duffy. I asked her why he has that nickname and she said that when he was little he could not say Jeffy, which is what they called him and it sounded like duffy when he said it.
Of course I had to keep the tradition so now everyone at work knows him by Duffy.

If nothing else, keep it because your grandmother did something she thought was kind and that you would like.

Unless your friends know where the name came from I see nothing wrong with it. Will make for good unique plates if you ask me.

Andyman is a relatively cool license plate. I think you're stressing because you're grandmother got it for you, and grandmothers aren't cool. I say it's cool and I'm not your grandmother, so keep it.

Don't worry. The car isn't going to last past graduation anyways. You are going to total it. It's too much car for you.

A 5.3L V8 that weighs 3500 lbs in the hands of a 16 year old...... You do the math.

^ About that...

My parents have a car thats faster than mine, and I drive it all the time. On top of that, it's a clutch.

That doesn't matter. You have been driving for what... 6 months? Face it, it's a fast car. You are going to drive it fast, especially with your friends around. I saw it all the time. You know what kills teenagers the most? CAR ACCIDENTS!! I wonder why too....

Could it be peer pressure to look and act cool (like getting a fast car and then driving it fast). Could it be inexperience and not having a clear understanding of how to handle things like... a slide, skids, sharp corners, unexpected obstacles (deer/dogs/other cars)?

And you drive an automatic, not a clutch. Having clutch "experience" only adds so much to your driving ability, mainly being more alert to what the car is doing.

EDIT: Just had to mention this... Young people are more likely to speed, take risks, drive at night, and underestimate a dangerous or unexpected situation. Having a fast car improves none of this. Just be careful, don't speed, and don't drive with your friends. Your young passenger is twice as likely to die if his accompanying driver is also young (under 20).
