What software supports Quicksync?

Hi,

I do some DVD encoding using AutoGK, some editing using VirtualDub, and some editing using Windows Live Movie Maker, all in Windows 7. I have an Asrock Z68 Extreme4 with an ATI 4850x2 video card. Is Quicksync supported in any of the video software I'm using?

No. Right now support is primarily found in the major commercial encoding suites. AutoGK, X264, etc do not implement it because they're more concerned with fine-grained control over the encoding process.

Which is the best overall full featured suite, price being no object? I don't care for bang for the buck, just the best overall. I know they are all not perfect but would like to get some advice from someone who has used or tried them. It seems that it would come down to Cyberlink, Roxio or Nero. Any recommendations from the experts here? I have been checking some reviews, but you never know who gets paid for what on those review sites. Of course they need to use the Quicksync technology on my mobo's chipset.

Can someone revive this thread when windows movie maker supports Quicksync? Until it is easily accessible, free, and ubiquitous I wont be messing with it.

The best is Final Cut Pro. Since you said price is no object, getting the Mac to run it isn't a problem

You're right, but only on a Mac? Nah........no thanks. Well then let me be more specific, the best on W7 64 bit? I'm not a Mac kinda guy.

MediaCoder is freeware and supports QuickSync... I found the software looking for freeware options to use QS and was pleasantly surprised. It is really neat and configurable.

I couldn't get mediacoder to work. Trying to convert a mkv to mpeg2 to burn to DVD. Every time i run it gives an error "incorrect parameters for intel encoder".

Any other free programs that support quick sync?

I use Roxio Creator Pro 2012 with an Azrock z68 Extreme 3 Gen 3 / Intel Core i7 2600k at stock speed and the encoding time is unreal. What took me almost two hours in a Core 2 Duo takes about 12-15 minutes using Quick Sync.
