Thanks in advance for the help.
I have a D-Link Air *Plus* rated at 22mbps. Its stable and works fine for me.
A lot of times, your performance depends on the wireless adapter you are using to connect to with it. My dad's in-built wireless (centrino processor in a dell laptop) works better than my brother's external pcmcia card in a toshiba. Also, they both work better than a wireless pci card in a desktop. Every time i have used "better", i meant signal strength. And it only differs by 1 bar. My dad's laptop is mostly at full strength anywhere in the house (4 bars), while my brother's flickers between 3-4 bars. The desktop across in the other room than the router is usually at 3 bars. sometimes drops to 2 bars.
I have not seen any change in internet activity though, as long as u are at 3 bars, internet is as fast as it can be.
So IMO, try a D-Link or NetGear. Best Buy, office max, etc usually have good deals on them on sundays...and since you always have a 30day no hassle return guarantee...i would try them all one by one, and stick with the one that works best with your adapters. And seriously, if you dont do a lot of INTRAnet sharing, you should try both the 802.11b and 802.11g routers, of course its up to you if you want to get 802.11g wireless adapters or not.
Then again, my roommate had the same router, and it was bad..like the wireless wouldnt work properly at all. So it might be that the one u have has a faulty firmware or just a lil defective.
In short, try the d-link or netgear.
