What's the deal with Alienware?

Hey guys, I mostly lurk here so forgive my low post count. Anyways, I'm kinda an Alienware fan and I have one of their older laptops. Does anyone here know the deal with their Breed campaign??? They have 3 episodes now and it looks like they're hinting at a new ... desktop?

Anyone hear anything? I'm interested in getting a new system soon.

"Deal" and "Alienware" do not belong in the same sentence

If I really wanted an Alienware computer I'd buy an older Alienware case off ebay and build the system myself.

Alienware cases are pretty cramped, imo. Alienware has achieved the status now of paying for the brand, not the component, so I +1 of saying its not worth your money, unless you don't want to build your own PC at all but want boutique quality.

Last time I checked (July), a $1,600 Alienware desktop offered the same performance as a $900-1,000 set of parts from Newegg.

If you have a couple of hours of free time and can use a screwdriver, you can get a gaming PC -plus- a Sony PS3 & Nintendo DS for less than that Alienware, with enough left over for a few months of Netflix to supply the blu-ray rentals.
