Then it must be me. The web page never fully loads. The graphics (item pictures) are absent, the top search icon desn't complete (the go icon is missing, but if I click on the empty space it works). Other wb pages click right in (zipzoomfly for instance). I just reloaded my Zone Alarm Suite the other day - maybe it is choking NewEgg.
paid real attention this time - what happens is the little counter in the task bar lower left will stop counting leving 35 or more items yet to download/display. Can the page load time run out before everything on the page is displayed???
Yes, the page can, and sometimes does. I get this problem at work a lot with Newegg, but I think it's related more to the crappy boxes we use (P2 450, 256mb ram, win2k, 9gb hd) then our massive multi-T3's.
Be careful there - they recently changed their default shipper from fedex to UPS. Not only does fedex cost more, but if you aren't careful you might not notice and accidentally send your order into the brown hole.
UPS, Fedex, who cares, they're both roughly the same. My main concern is that my order gets shipped in a timely manner and it gets there intact.
Disable Zonealarm and try loading up the Newegg web site to see if it's ZA. If it's ZA, go into Privacy on the left side then click on the Site List tab and edit www.newegg.com to allow session cookies, persistent cookies and private headers. It shouldn't need anything else. Make sure if you're using something like Firefox with adblock that the adblock function is not blocking objects from Newegg. Also, Firefox has built in cookie control so make sure it's letting cookies through within Firefox.
Akugami - did as you suggested - all is well. I added newegg to the list of ok websites. Not sure what ZA was doing but it was practically shutting down NewEgg. I guess there is a lot more going on at NewEgg's site than meets the eye. At any rate it must all be harmless - to the eye -----
Restored WIN XP to a week ago (before loading the latest version of ZA) and NewEgg worked fine. Apparently the new ZA Security Suite see's stuff the older version didn't.
Hope NewEgg doesn't get to big for its britches. It's a common failing error in any business - getting spread to thin in trying to be all things to all people. At one time they could afford to ship just about everything for free, now those days are gone (with the exception of ZipZoomFly).
