klah, Your Mac has problems...!
The My freelance gig in front of a Mac trolls appear in virtually every discussion about Apple Computers. The troll claims to have witnessed <the latest Apple hardware> taking 20 minutes to copy a 17 MB file from one folder to another and proceeds to question all Apple users as to their platform choice. It is a straight forward copy-and-paste from a weblog entry by Jason Kottke.

Actually that is partially true dkoz. Every Mad Mac'er I know is voting for Kerry and gets rather hostile if I say anything positive about Bush.
WTF? Why the hell are you trolling then?Originally posted by: klah

uh...macs aren't mhz dependent...kind of like AMD isn't mhz dependent...
I get what you're getting at, I get frustrated at the same thing, but trolling the thread isn't helping it die.Originally posted by: klah

Because there are already 42 threads with this same subject from this year alone. Each of these threads has the same arguments posted ad nauseam. It is certainly easier to read one of those 42 threads than to have people repost the same material here for the 43rd time.

Yes, but unlike the the AMD's they're still not on par. Macs are pretty much OS dependent, one good thing of OSX is how effecient it is at using it's available memory.

wow no one has answered the question.."whats wrong with macs?". Ill answer it again, NOTHING!
PS. What makes a Mac a Mac is the OS. I hear IBM will be bringing their PowerPC procs to PCs!. Though stick with my Athlons. Also what would happen if Apple made OSX compatable with the x86s?
Fixed. 2+ years before a single crash, here. 4 mobos (3 chipsets), 4 video cards, 5 sound cards, 2 monitors, 5 mice, 3 opticals, at least 3 HDDs (maybe 5, though)...a single blue screen. Then I reinstalled.Originally posted by: Skorpio
I used macs before I switched to pc.
If theres one good thing about macs (old macs) is that they are less prone to crashing then windows 9x and ME

This is an ethusiest forum. Where people like to be geeks and learn how to hack their computer, program things, and play games and hack them. Also hack movies to copy them and whatever else. The PC has a lot of freedom to do what developers and software engineers enjoy doing. Making this thing do what they want.
Macs are limited to the non developers and the non ethusiest.
That's the difference. You will never see a developer start off with a mac. PC's are cheaper first of all and you learn a lot more when you build one yourself. you can also program it with various programming tools. Macs has very little development tools. Not sure why but i can only think that maybe a mac is just difficult to program in.
so
PC's = Developer/Ethusiest/gamers (who become developers eventually)
Macs = Users who can't get that blinking 12:00 to stop
