Crimeny, this thing is still alive? Wow, guess a lot of people like weird, "out there" games.

Another one I'd like to mention:

Earthbound (SNES)

This was my introduction to RPGs. Seriously. Before this I had never played (or at least played and enjoyed) an RPG. After that I went to FF7, which got me so well-seated into playing RPGs that I never went back. But I still will go back to playing Earthbound every once in a while. (Since my series 1 SNES still works) It's easy to learn but more importantly it's damn funny.

Earthbound Zero (NES) is also good, but it was never released in the US. The only way you can play it is with a ROM someone made of the one test copy Nintendo made. (which last sold for something over 1 mil)

You mean Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel.

Yes, I have all the PC fallout games, including BOS, but I wasn't impressed with that buggy POS - it was nowhere near the quality of gameplay that the original fallout series offered.

Metal Slug X sold way too many machines to be overlooked. It's a fixture in arcade lore.

Heroes of Might and Magic III with all expansions, it even beats civ and civ II in addictiveness even though it's close. It's the best hotseat game made, great when friends are visiting.

that's probably the one game that's always on my PC (minus the expansions). i've probably spent more time playing that game than any other. if you're interested in selling me your copy of the expansions, PM or Email me!!!

Sweet, I've been going after these overlooked games recently. I manage to find(for a good price) many of them including Grim Fandango, System Shock 2, Carmaggeddon, Sin, Deus Ex, Rune, and the Monkey Island series all in the last month. All these games are going on my list.... Now for my underrated.

PC- Master of Magic, The Art of War
NES- Kings of the Beach (yes a volleyball game that was fun)
Sega- an X-men game, had great graphics for the genesis
PS1- Final Fantasy Tatics (overlooked at the time, at least in the US)

I'm waiting for the first Farcry comment to come out.

has anyone mentioned the Breath of Fire games yet? BoF 1-4 rocked. I wasn't too fond of 5, but the first four were my favorite SNES/PS1 games.

ROTT. Brings back memories. First game my son and I played against each other. I had got him a computer for Christmas and we connected his and mine over a serial connection. What a surprise when we started Rise of the Triad that Christmas day and the character was wearing a Santa hat on the start up screen. We had lots of fun with that game.

TimeSplitters 2. One of the best multiplayer (and even single player) FPS out there. Not as good as Halo, but the graphics are really nice, and it is an AMAZING game. Plus its only $15. Yet, no one plays it.

Chrono Cross(PSX) was SH1T!

Crono Trigger(SNES), on the other hand, is one of the greatest games of all time.

Hearts of Iron for PC and to a lesser extent (it's more well known), Fallout 1.

The most overlooked game though, is "Earthbound" for SNES. I have "Ramblin Evil Mushroom" as my avatar on a couple of forums.

So I was looking in the thread about HDD Loader when I remembered one of my favorite games, but also one of the hardest to find. It was an old PS1 game called Intelligent Qube, a sort of surreal puzzle game where you were given the task of destroying rolling walls of giant cubes with bombs, with some other complications. Anyone who's played it knows how addictive it is. So that's my favorite.

Oh by the way, there's another I liked but I can't remember the name; it was a 4-player game played in a cube-shaped room, and if you hit certain switches the room would rotate onto a different side. If you were in the wrong spot you'd fall. A lot. The name was something with "Blast" in it I think. "Blast Room"? "Blast Chamber"?

EDIT: Remember to say what system(s) it is for. ^_^

The Longest Journey. It was an old school type advernture game that came out ~3 years ago, with INCREDIBLE graphics and storyline, a really well put together world, and the puzzles actuially ment sense. It ranks up there with the best adventure games during Sierra's golden age -- yet it sold dirt poor

How can you call one of the best selling games of the year, which you can still find on the shelf at best buy, overlooked?

BTW, I've been playing Outlaw on my Xbox via c64 emulation.

Have to agree, it's right up there with Chrono Trigger and FF6 in my book. So overlooked when the SNES was on the shelves, but when people went back to compile their Top XX lists it really started getting the props it deserves. If there was a GBA version of this I'd be $150 poorer.
