I have a standard mid-tower case. It has one 80mm fan blowing out the back and my power supply fan, it is 80mm also. The case dosn't have a built-in spot for another case fan but, I would like to cool the case better. Should I add a new fan blowing in or out? I have a 120mm fan sitting around. It will not fit in the front of the case so the only places I could put it would be the side or maybe the top of the case. Anyone have any suggetions? Thanks for any help.

I have a mod that works just as well as cutting holes in the right side without any cutting at all and it is cheap!

You get one of those PCI slot fans. You take the metal grill off of it and put some tape over the front part of the exhaust. You use a bit of clear silicon glue to slap it on the backing plate and get the exhaust right up against the mommaboard. It blows air behing the board making your RAM and CPU run cooler no matter how well you are cooling otherwise.

You already have two exhaust fans. TT PSUs are known not to do well when run hot.
Thier caps swell, then voltages get unstable. At boot HDDs can die from 5V spikes. This
is not FUD, just a caution. I've had two PMs from guys that changed out TT PSUs that
were just acting funny. They opened them up for inspection and found swelling caps.

Use your 120 for an intake. I suggest the right panel because it's less hassle than the left
side. The wiring can be left hooked-up when the rig needs service. Use a square aluminum
filter screen to cover your work, as it may not present itself well Then just vacuum the
screen when you do the room. You do know how to work a vacuum
I would drill a series of holes, then use a nibbler to finish it. I hope for your sake, the right
panel is easily removed. If your 120 is a high speed, try it on 5V to see if it will start/run
reliably. A 120@60cfm would do very well, maybe 80cfm but the noise will be a bit much.
Most 120x25s are not too bad dBA wise at 50~60cfm.

Galvanized - My right pannel comes off easy as pie. I should be able to mount it there with no problems. Thanks for the input.
