Which 19" monitor?

Does anyone know if the NEC AccuSync AS95F 19" monitor is a good monitor? Or the Samsung Syncmaster 955DF? Im looking for a new 19" monitor for playing games, but also for word processing/ internet browsing.

My friend has the Samsung, and it's an amazing monitor for the price!!! Handles geometry better than my more expensive Hitachi CM771's. I'm not sure about the NEC though.

They're based on the same Samsung tube, I would get the cheaper one.

Just like LXi stated, same tube, just different refresh rates and resoultions. I'd go for the cheaper one, I have never regreted buying one of my "budget" monitors, but I have been disappointed with most of my "high end" monitors.

Listen to LXi. The best monitor for the price right now would be either the Samsung SyncMaster 900NF or the KDS AV-195TF. Whichever you find cheaper, thats the one to go for. Just make sure you get an apteure grille monitor, and not a shadow mask.

Just ordered the 955DF myself this morning. Supposely there is a problem with text at the 1600x1200 (grainy). Others said they had no problem. I don't plan on using that small a font. For lower res there were no complaints.

i have both the samsung 955df and 950p...i personally like my 950p more even though it's not flat. i feel that the 950p produces sharper images. the 955df is alright, and very cheap for a flat screen monitor

Samsung makes two 19" flat monitors i believe - teh dynaflat 900IFT and 900NF
the IFT uses a flat shadowmask is actually incredibly flat with a good picture
and offers comparable (read 'exactly the same') refresh rates at a given resolution
as the NF (naturally flat - aperature grill pitch) model.
and its neck is slightly shorter, less heavy and the monitor costs less....and what
u're using the monitor for, this is probably your best choice...tho, the NF does
haev a slightly more flat and perhpas unnoticeably better picture...
as well as those horizontal lines at the bottom...
